Fight off enemies by becoming more successful.

Fight off enemies by becoming more successful. By Stan Thomas.

If you have a great reputation in your community how can you  protect it from those who wish to  defame  you? Success is hard to get and the last thing you want is for some person to take it from you. If someone attacks you with a  negative statement to make you look bad how do you fight back?    There is a  simple solution to this problem .

What   you can do is wait  for the attacker to stop attacking . Then go on the  offensive. This works very well when something bad happens to the person who attacked you. This is when  you let them have it.  However there is a better solution to this problem .

Instead of attacking the person back directly or indirectly what you can do is simply become more successful at what you do . You have to be better than the competition. You have to be bigger  than the enemies who wish to destroy you.  If  your reputation is larger than their reputation then their voice does not  matter as much as yours. You have  to defeat your enemies  by becoming more successful at what you do than your enemies are at what they do.

You have to push yourself out there so far ahead of your enemies that they cannot catch up with you.  By becoming more successful  a large number of people  know about you as a  highly successful person . Your enemies cannot keep up with you because  they are way too small to persuade the public against you. When you grow bigger  your enemies will look  small and petty.

There is a board game called go. It is different from the game chess . In the game go  the objective is to dominate the board by taking up  the most space  on the game board . In life successful people dominate the public perception of  them . The more  success  a person has and the more well-known  the successful person is  the more  protected this person is from their enemies .

Have you noticed how  hard it is to criticize a highly successful and popular person and  get away with it. Some people have such a good reputation that you would look like a fool criticizing  this person.  That's The Power of  success and a big reputation. Superstars are more well-known   than critics.  A critic attepts to make a name for  himself  by attacking someone who is highly successful .

Like the old saying goes , there has never been a statute erected to a critic . So keep on pushing  and keep on striving for higher Heights.  That way you will leave your enemies in the dust .

Be a Showboat.

Be a Showboat.
By Stan Thomas.

Why do you need to be a Showboat when it comes to your career? If you are in sales, real estate, finance, writing a book, music, or acting or in business for yourself you need to put on a show for the public. If you create a product or service, you have to sell that product or service to stay in business. But how are you going to sell a book you wrote if no one has ever heard of you? What a person would do is write a book and shop it around as a manuscript trying to get a book deal.
The problem is that publishers don’t want to sign you because you are an unknown author. They can’t make money off of you because no one knows who you are. No one has ever heard of you before. So it is a real struggle for a first time author to be successful because of that reason. They are unknown and they have to get their name out there some kind of way.
People have to know about them and their work before they can be considered for a deal. You have to be on TV, the radio, internet and other media to grab attention and have a large following. This is called marketing where you strive to put your name and product in the minds of the public. Not only if you are trying to get a book deal are you going to have to market and promote yourself, but even if you publish yourself you have to market and sell yourself in order to sell your product. So whether you are in music, acting, real estate, insurance, or whatever, you have to move your biggest obstacle in the way of your success, nothing.

2 / 2
No one calling you and no one talking about you mean that you do not exist in that particular field. So what you have to do is to be a showman and tell the whole world about what it is that you do. You have to give away some free content in order to attract eyeballs and ears. Get on TV, radio, and internet and get your name in front of thousands of people and you would have a better chance at making it. If you want to sell one CD or download of your music you may have to let 50 people hear a song of yours.
One great example of showmanship is that of             Nicoli Tesla and Thomas Edison. Nikola Tesla was an inventor first and foremost. He didn't believe in politics or business. In his mind working on his inventions was more important than show boating around to businessman and politicians . He did not care about showing off his inventions to financiers or making sure that he gets recognized for his work.
As a result he was not as successfully well known as he should have been. Thomas Edison on the other hand was a businessman and a show man. Everything he did was about making sure that he gets recognized for the invention and that the public becomes highly aware of the invention. Thomas Edison was well-known and well connected in the business community at that time. He was also well-known in the science community as well.
And as a result Thomas Edison is the scientist that we all know about and only a few of us have ever heard of Nikola Tesla. If you study the history of these two great men you would realize that Nicoli Tesla was the better scientist of the two. Thomas Edison however was a better Showman than Nikola Tesla and it is Nikola Tesla who worked for Thomas Edison. Nikola Tesla did not care about fame and fortune and was more concerned with being a genius and thought that the rest will just take care of itself. But it did not.
As the person who is in charge of your own success you must do everything in your power to sell, market, and promote yourself and your products. The key take away from this story is that if you are in business for yourself and you have an excellent product, you need to let the world know about you and your product or service. Become a showboat and present yourself to the entire planet and let everyone talk about you and your product.

Bend but don't break.

Bend but don't break .

By Stan Thomas.

Once upon a time when I was driving a tractor trailer rig , I was driving down a rual Highway.  There was a broken branch that stuck out into the roadway . The problem was the branch was not sticking out far enough to be noticed at a distant. It only stuck out slightly. My right view  mirror hit the branch and the mirror arm was bent to the point where I could not see out of the mirror. I thought I had broken the mirror. I pulled the rig to the side of the road as soon as I found a safe place to do so. When I got out of the truck I went to the passenger side and looked at the mirror. I was relieved. The mirror itself was not broken, and the arm was designed to bend in on contact. So I pulled the mirror back out to the proper position and got back in the cab and drove off. The mirror was designed to bend but not break. Had it not been designed that way it would have broken on contact. In life many challenges will come your way. You have to design yourself to be able to bend when hit with something bad  and absorbed the blow.  When you get a chance you can readjust yourself and go back on your journey. You have to be able to bend but never break under stress. A spring which is made out of metal is a perfect tool which is designed to bend under stress. The coils are spaced apart just right to allow it to stay cool while being pushed on regularly.  With all of the constant stress of being pushed on it never breaks. It just goes back to its former shape waiting to be nudged again. The spring bends but it never breaks.  End.

Be Crazy.

Be crazy.
By Stan Thomas.

Do you know something? To achieve anything in life you need to be crazy. Stop trying to make sense all the time. Stop only looking to do what is reasonable. Why be sensible? You need to be crazy. That's the only way you are going to achieve anything in life. You have to be crazy enough to believe you can actually do it. You need to have people calling you crazy. " Look at that fool. He can't do that. Boy you are crazy. Girl you are crazy." you should say yes I am crazy. There is a movie about an olympian from the 1980s who won at the 1988 Winter olympics. The movie was called Eddie the eagle. Eddie wanted to be an Olympian every since he was a little boy. He wanted to get into the Winter Olympics to be a long jumper. The jumps can be anywhere from a 50 meter jump to a 90 meter jump. They come sliding down the ramp, next thing you know they're high up in the air. The jump is looking just as graceful and peaceful when they're up in the air. Then they hit the ground missing their Landing , tumbling violently until they stop. Sometimes they may break their neck and have to go in the hospital for a few months. When they get out they go and jump again. That's what Eddie did. He wanted to be in the Winter Olympics to win a gold medal so bad he just did not care about getting hurt. He had a dream of winning a gold medal at the Winter Olympics since he was probably 4 years old. And that's how you got to be, crazy. By the way eddie the dreamer was at an Olympic Training field one day as he was watching the Winter Olympic team practice. Eddie watched as one jumper was at the top of the ramp. The jumper took off down the ramp and was flying gracefully into the air. When he landed on the slope he must have flipped a dozen times. When he stopped flipping and tumbling one of the team members ran towards him. He was hurt badly. He had to be carried out on a stretcher. There was a certain man there. He was a worker who maintained the field. He had noticed Eddie a few days prior at the field. He knew that Eddie had Ambitions of being a long jumper. The worker told Eddie while pointing at the injured long jumper. He is an experienced jumper. You have no shot. But that incident did not deter eddie any. He went for his dream anyway. To make a long story short the field maintenance worker whines up training ready to jump because he was a former Olympian himself. Eddie trains, jumps, breaks his neck, is hospitalized, and still ends up winning a gold medal, all because of his natural craziness. It's a good thing that he was not logical at all. Logic would have told him that he did not start skiing early enough in life to have a shot at the Olympics. If he would have listened at the logic of the naysayers He Never Would Have Made It. The moral of the story is that if you want to achieve something great in life you have to forget about being logical and just be crazy. The moment you decide on what you want to be and do and write your goals down, you will hear a voice asking you how are you going to do that. How can you possibly make this happen? The minute you hear a how to write it down as a step toward your goal. Write it as another thing to get done as part of what you want to accomplish. You are going to do it just write down all the things that bring a doubt and list them as steps to be completed. With enough thought you will stumble across the how to. In order to achieve anything great in life you have to be crazy. You don't have to be crazy to be average or do small things. But you have to be crazy to go after something big. The end
